I taped poly to the ceiling of my garage to try and keep the dust contained. But it took me longer to get done what I wanted done, so eventually the tape started letting go in places and dust got into everything. it was in the mid to hight 30''s the whole time I was out there blasting and I put about 40 hours into blasting the trunk inside and out, the rear wheel wells inside and out, the bottoms of the doors and the firewall inside and out. It took a while to figure out the optimum settings for air and sand mixture and I recycled the sand as much as I could by sweeping it off the floor and sifting it before putting it back into the tank. I wore out every nozzle and ball valve I had before I was done. It will be a long time before I do this again. One thing I can say is that this little home unit didn't create enough heat to warp any of the sheet metal. If I had a better place to work in I would have liked to done a lot more with the sand blaster.ie. small spaces like rain gutter and trunk lips and windshield channel etc. Places that are awkward to sand.
