The replacement panel has been cut down to slight bigger than the opening and is screwed in place here for a test fit. The opening was cut slighlty smaller than what the patch was going to be so there was a good 1.5 to 2 inches of overlap. The contour of the new rocker panel I put in previously and that of the quarter panel that extends below the door were not the same. One was a rounded shape and the other more 'boxy' or square. Because the parts came from two different manufacturers they didn't fit together very well, so I trimmed them to butt weld them together as I couldn't get the one to fit insider the other.
