I was thinking about welding the drop off panels to the bottom of the quarters before I put them in the car. That way it would be easier to clamp and weld than if I had to do it upside down. Then, I thought it might be a good idea to see how the drop off panels fit on the bottom of the new trunk floor that was to go in later. It turns out the floor is for a 63-64 Impala and 'some modification is required" to fit the '62. It was much easier to modify the floor with the drop offs to use for refernce than ti would have been to ti after the drop offs were welded into the car. I have now decided just to screw the drop off panels in place for now until I actually get the new floor in place, just in case further modification is required.
