My Chevelle ( Page 3)
The first package tray that came in did not fit. Seems there was
more than one type for this year and model that varied with the
headliner type. and whether the sail panels were attached to the
headliner or separate. This car has part of the sail panels
attached to the headliner and little "ear muff" panels that tuck in
just in front of the rear window that are not attached to the
headliner. This was a good time to clean and repaint the speaker
grill and screws. Not much left to do in the interior except
change the carpet * which is ok for now even though it's a little faded.
I also have a crinkle on my dash pad which I should have changed
out when I had the dash out but that will have to wait now until the
Impala is done. * I actually found a spray die for fabric & vinyl at Canadian Tire that I sprayed on my carpet. WOW! It worked like a charm! I sprayed the carpet in the car without removing the seats or anything and it took me about 5 minutes. I used a big straight edge to protect things I didn't want sprayed and my carpet now looks like new and it still feels like carpet not like material that's been painted over. And because it's for vinyl as well, I took it to the big plastic box under the dash that directs the air flow for the heater and a/c and now that looks like new too! It's been two weeks and the stuff hasn't faded and doesn't rub off. The best part is it was only $11 for a can that did the whole job. (Updated June 11, 2010)
